A Moment in History

When Ibrahim Pasha killed Shaykh Sulaymān Ibn ‘Abdillāh Ibn Muḥammad Ibn ‘Abdil-Waḥḥāb (may Allāh have mercy upon them all), he wanted to enrage Shaykh Sulaymān’s father, Shaykh ‘Abdullāh Ibn Muhammad Ibn ‘Abdil-Waḥḥāb (may Allāh have mercy upon them both). Pasha said to the Shaykh, “We killed your son Sulaymān.” Continue reading

Do Not Blame Your Lord

The Noble Shaykh Ibn Bāz (may Allāh have mercy upon him) stated:

When the need (you have) is delayed (from being fulfilled), do not blame your Lord. Do not say: Why, why (haven’t you answered my du’ā and fulfilled my need) my Lord. Rather, it is upon you to return back to yourself and take account of yourself, for indeed your Lord is All-Wise and All-Knowing. Therefore, return back to yourself and look. Continue reading

Be Humble And Accept Advice From Your Brother

The Noble Scholar Rabī’ Ibn Hādī (may Allāh preserve him) stated:

Upon you is being humble for Allāh and (know that) the religion is sincere advice. When your brother advises you or your father or one who is older than you in age or younger – even if there are degrees/level between you and him – if he advised for Allah, accept (the advice); be humble and do not reject the truth. For indeed, arrogance is looking down upon the people and the rejection of the truth. Therefore, do not look down upon the people nor should you reject the truth. Continue reading

A Good Deed Multiplied to Two Million Good Deeds

All praise is due to Allah, may the Salāh and Salām be upon the Messenger of Allāh. As to what follows:

Do not look down upon the good in any way, for Allāh is the one who is vast in virtue. He bestows His virtue upon whomever He wills. The good deed is counted as ten good deeds like it up to seven hundred fold, to more than that by many times. Rather the increase of the one good deed could reach the amount of being two million good deeds. And Allāh is the possessor of magnificent virtue. On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (may Allāh be pleased with him) he said: The Messenger of Allāh (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) said:

إِنَّ اللَّهَ عز وجل يُضَعِّفُ الْحَسَنَةَ لِلْمُؤْمِنِ أَلْفَيْ أَلْفِ حَسَنَةٍ Continue reading

The Fourteen Enemies

A man said to Abu Hāzim (may Allah have mercy upon him): Indeed you are strict. Abu Hāzim (may Allāh have mercy upon him) replied:

Why shouldn’t I be strict when I’m certainly being observed/watched by 14 enemies. As for four of them: A Shaytān (devil) who puts me to trial, a believer who envies me, a disbeliever (who wants to) kill me and a hypocrite who hates me. As for the (remaining) ten, from them are: The matter of hunger, thirst, heat, cold, nakedness, old age, sickness, poverty, death and the hell-fire. I don’t have the ability (to combat them all) except with a complete weapon. And I do not find a weapon to combat them with better than (the weapon of) at-Taqwā (having fear of Allah). The Ruling on Suicide Bombings in Non-Muslim Lands

Question Posed to The Noble Shaykh Zayd al-Madkhalī (may Allāh have mercy upon him):

Q. May Allāh reward you with goodness. There are some people who say: “Indeed the bombings in the lands of the non-Muslims is correct in light of their slaughtering the Muslims in Palestine and other regions.” So what is the origin of this matter? Continue reading

Intentions Matter When Speaking the Truth

Shaykhul-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah (may Allāh have mercy upon him):

If the person who speaks the truth intends (with that) being uppermost in the land (over the people) and/or causing corruption therein, then he is on the same level as the one who fights out of fanaticism and showing off. On the other hand, if the person speaks (the truth) sincerely for the sake of Allāh, making the religion for Him (Alone), he is from the Mujāhidīn (i.e. those who  strive) on the path of Allāh; (he is from the) inheritors of the Prophets (and) the successors of the Messengers.
