The Reality of Jannah

Shaykhul-Islām Ibn al-Qayyim (may Allāh have mercy upon him) stated:

Al-Jannah is not merely a name for the trees, the fruits, the food, the drink, the women of paradise, the rivers and palaces. Most of the people make a mistake regarding the name of Al-Jannah. Indeed Al-Jannah is the name for the abode of unrestricted complete bliss. And from the greatest of the bliss in Al-Jannah is the enjoyment of looking at the Noble Face of Allah and hearing His speech. Also is the delight of the eye by being near to Him and by way of His being pleased. There’s no comparison of the pleasure in it from the food, the drink, the clothing and the images (therein) to this pleasure (of seeing the Noble face of Allāh and being near to Him).

باب الصبر على البلاء عند الصدمة الأولى

-قال تعالى: {وَبَشِّرِ الصَّابِرِينَ * الَّذِينَ إِذَا أَصَابَتْهُم مُّصِيبَةٌ قَالُواْ إِنَّا لِلّهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعونَ * أُولَئِكَ عَلَيْهِمْ صَلَوَاتٌ مِّن رَّبِّهِمْ وَرَحْمَةٌ وَأُولَئِكَ هُمُ الْمُهْتَدُونَ}

عن أنس -رضي الله عنه- عن النبي -ﷺ- قال:
«الصبر عند الصدمة الأولى» ١.

-الواجب على من أُصيب بمرض، أن يصبر

The Fourteen Enemies

A man said to Abu Hāzim (may Allah have mercy upon him): Indeed you are strict. Abu Hāzim (may Allāh have mercy upon him) replied:

Why shouldn’t I be strict when I’m certainly being observed/watched by 14 enemies. As for four of them: A Shaytān (devil) who puts me to trial, a believer who envies me, a disbeliever (who wants to) kill me and a hypocrite who hates me. As for the (remaining) ten, from them are: The matter of hunger, thirst, heat, cold, nakedness, old age, sickness, poverty, death and the hell-fire. I don’t have the ability (to combat them all) except with a complete weapon. And I do not find a weapon to combat them with better than (the weapon of) at-Taqwā (having fear of Allah). Defining Ḥizbiyyah

Shaykhul-Islām ibn Taymiyyah (may Allāh have mercy upon him) mentioned regarding Ḥizbiyyah:

As for the leader of the Ḥizb, he is the head of the group which has become a Ḥizb. If they are united upon that which Allāh has commanded with, as well as His Messenger without any addition or subtraction, then they are believers. For them is that which is for them and upon them is that which is upon them. And if they have indeed added to that or subtracted (from it) – like having Taʿaṣṣub (fanaticism) for whoever enters into their Ḥizb (group/party) based upon the truth and falsehood and turning away from the one who has not entered into their Ḥizb whether he is upon the truth or falsehood – then this is from the separation (into groups and parties) which Allāh and His Messenger have condemned.

Do Not Cover Up The Truth With Falsehood

وَلَا تَلْبِسُوا الْحَقَّ بِالْبَاطِلِ وَتَكْتُمُوا الْحَقَّ وَأَنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ
And mix not truth with falsehood, nor conceal the truth [i.e. Muhammad Peace be upon him is Allah’s Messenger and his qualities are written in your Scriptures, the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)] while you know (the truth). (Soorah Al-Baqara: 42)

The Noble Shaykh Sālih al-Fawzān (may Allah preserve him) stated explaining this verse:

This is another prohibition – covering up the truth with falsehood. Meaning, mixing the truth with falsehood. That which is obligatory is that the truth be distinguished from that which is falsehood. Continue reading

From the Benefits of the Five Daily Prayers

The Noble Imām Shaykh Muhammad Ibn Sālih al-‘Uthaymīn (may Allāh have mercy upon him) said:

Allāh has obligated them (i.e. the five daily prayers) upon the servants. When He first obligated them, He obligated them as fifty prayers to be prayed in the day and night. And being that it was fifty prayers, it is an indication of the love of Allāh for them, His care for them and that they are an act of worship which is entitled to take up most of the person’s time because it is the connection between Allāh and His servants. Are the Trials of the Times a Sign of the Hour?

Question Posed to The Noble Shaykh Sālih al-Fawzān (may Allāh preserve him):

Question:  An abundance of trials and tribulations, occurrences and jealousy have been noticed in this time. Is this from the signs of the establishment of the Hour?

Answer: Without a doubt, the trials and tribulations are from the signs of the establishment of the Hour. There’s no might or power except with Allāh. It is upon the Muslim that he ask Allāh for the safety from the trials and tribulations and that when they take place, he doesn’t participate in it. Continue reading
