Are the Trials of the Times a Sign of the Hour?

Question Posed to The Noble Shaykh Sālih al-Fawzān (may Allāh preserve him):

Question:  An abundance of trials and tribulations, occurrences and jealousy have been noticed in this time. Is this from the signs of the establishment of the Hour?

Answer: Without a doubt, the trials and tribulations are from the signs of the establishment of the Hour. There’s no might or power except with Allāh. It is upon the Muslim that he ask Allāh for the safety from the trials and tribulations and that when they take place, he doesn’t participate in it. Continue reading →

The Ruling on Giving Zakaatul-Fitr As Money

A question posed to Imam Ibn Baaz (may Allah have mercy upon him):

Question:
I know that it is not permissible to give money for Zakaatul-Fitr and I mentioned this to my father; however, he didn’t accept it from me. He said that he doesn’t deny the Hadeeth on the Messenger of Allah; however, the country gives money (instead of food) and it’s upon us to do what some of the people do and that is to give money.
