The Blessing Of Knowledge And Sitting With The Scholars

Shaykhul-Islam Ibn al-Qayyim (may Allah have mercy upon him) mentioned that the Commander of the Believers Umar Ibn al-Khattaab (may Allah be pleased with him) said:

If the person will leave from his home and upon him are the sins similar to the mountains of Tihaamah. When he hears the knowledge, he has fear (of Allah’s punishment), returns back and repents. Then he leaves to go back to his home and there are no sins upon him. Based upon this,  do not separate (yourselves) from the sittings of the Ulamaa.

Spreading Of The Knowledge

The Noble Shaykh Muhammmad Ibn Saalih al-‘Uthaymeen (may Allah have mercy upon) stated:

In your spreading of the knowledge, it is spreading of the religion of Allah. Therefore you are from those who strive in the path of Allah. The one striving in the path of Allah opens up the lands one after another in order for him to spread the religion in them. And you are opening up the hearts with the knowledge in order that you spread the legislation of Allah azza wa jall within them.

How To Deal With The Innovators

The Noble Shaykh, al-‘Allāmah, Rabee’ Ibn Hādī ‘Umayr al-Madkhali (may Allāh preserve him) said:

Indeed the people of innovations nowadays are many, filling the earth — refuge is sought with Allāh! Thus we do not boycott all of them, but rather they are the objective (target) of our call. We call them to Allāh with wisdom and fair preaching. As for the leaders and callers to falsehood in their (i.e., Ahlul Bida’) newspapers, magazines, books, articles, lectures, seminars and websites — these are the ones who are to be warred against and warned from. And they are not to be sat with, read from, or benefited from.

Beware Of Your Heedlessness O Poor One!

Al-Fudayl Ibn ‘Iyaad (may Allah have mercy upon him) stated:

O poor one, you are one who does evil but you see yourself as one who does good. You are ignorant but you see yourself as one who is knowledgeable. You are one who is stingy but you see yourself as being generous. You are an idiot but you see yourself as being one who is intelligent. Your appointed time is short but your hope (for life) is long.

Imam adh-Dhahabee (may Allah have mercy upon him) stated commenting on the statement of al-Fudayl:

By Allah he (Al-Fudayl) has spoken the truth. And (I add) that you are an oppressor but you see yourself as being one who is oppressed. You are one who consumes the Haraam but you see yourself as being one who is fearful of Allah. You are a criminal but you believe that you are just. You are one who seeks knowledge for the Dunyaa and you see yourself as being one who seeks knowledge for Allah.

Keeping Away From The Indecent Mahram

Question posed to Shaykh ‘Uthaymeen (may Allah have mercy upon him):

Question:
We know that the paternal uncle of the woman is from the Mahaarim (non-marriageable male relatives), those whom it’s permissible for her to uncover in front of. However what is the case when the paternal uncle of the woman jokes with her with indecent jokes, is it permissible for her not to kiss him due to his indecent joking (with her)?

Answer:
If the paternal uncle jokes around with his nieces in a manner that’s doubtful, it is not permissible for them to go to him nor uncover their faces in front of him. That’s due to the fact that the scholars who allow that the woman can uncover her face in front of the Mahram make it a condition that there’s no Fitnah. And this man that jokes around with his nieces in a manner that’s evil, this means it’s feared that some fitnah will come upon them from him. And that which is obligatory is that one keeps far away from the causes of Fitnah. Continue reading →

يجب أن يكون مخلصاً في الأخوة وصادقا فيها حتى تجتمع القلوب

:قال الشيخ العلامة زيد المدخلي -رحمه الله وغفر له

ثم إنه لا يليق بالمسلمين أن تكون أخوتهم مجرد كلام وابتسام، مع مخالفة ما في القلوب لما تنطق به الألسنة، بل يجب أن تكون أخوتهم صادقة في الظاهر والباطن، ولا يحمل الأحقاد أخ مؤمن لإخوانه المؤمنين، وإن حصل بينهم ما حصل من مخالفات في حظوظ النفس أو حظوظ الدنيا؛ فإنها لا تخول له أن يحقد على إخوانه المسلمين، أو يبغضهم، أو يسيء بهم الظنون، بل يجب أن يكون مخلصاً في الأخوة وصادقا فيها حتى تجتمع القلوب، وتأتلف على الحق

Obedience Magnifies The Soul And Disobedience Belittles It

Shaykhul-Islaam Ibn al-Qayyim (may Allah have mercy upon him) stated:

Allah The Most High stated: “The one who purified his soul is indeed successful and the one who corrupts his soul is indeed destroyed.” The meaning: The one who magnifies his soul, lifts it and makes it superior by way of being obedient to Allah is indeed successful. And the one who makes his soul inferior and insignificant and belittled it by way of disobedience to Allah is indeed the loser. There’s nothing that belittles the soul like disobedience to Allah. And there’s nothing that magnifies the soul, makes it honorable and raises it up (in status) like obedience to Him.
