Dealing with the Mistakes of Ahlus Sunnah

Shaykh Muhammad ibn ‘Umar Baazmool (may Allah preserve him) stated:

It is not from the manhaj of the Salaf to deal with the mistakes of Ahlus Sunnah like (we) deal with the people of innovation. For indeed every child of Aadam makes mistakes. So the manhaj of the person is to be looked into and the mistake which has taken place from him is to be dealt with upon that basis.

The Hizbees Used to Be Salafis

The Noble Shaykh Rabee’ al-Madkhalee (may Allah preserve him) stated:

Today the one you see from the Hizbees in this land (i.e. Saudia), all of them, their origin is that they were Salafis. All of them became lost due to mixing, cohabiting, reading and listening to the people of desires. All of those that you see now and it is said about them ‘so and so is a Hizbee’, all of them have not become lost except by this way. They have taken the view of ‘I will take the truth (from the people of desires) and I will leave off the falsehood’. So as a result of that he takes the falsehood and leaves off the truth and becomes an enemy of the truth, waging war upon its people.

How To Deal With The Innovators

The Noble Shaykh, al-‘Allāmah, Rabee’ Ibn Hādī ‘Umayr al-Madkhali (may Allāh preserve him) said:

Indeed the people of innovations nowadays are many, filling the earth — refuge is sought with Allāh! Thus we do not boycott all of them, but rather they are the objective (target) of our call. We call them to Allāh with wisdom and fair preaching. As for the leaders and callers to falsehood in their (i.e., Ahlul Bida’) newspapers, magazines, books, articles, lectures, seminars and websites — these are the ones who are to be warred against and warned from. And they are not to be sat with, read from, or benefited from.
