Do Not Expose Your Sins in Front of Family – Shaykh ‘Uthaymeen

The Noble Shaykh Muhammad ibn Saalih al-‘Uthaymeen (may Allah have mercy upon him) stated:

It is befitting for the man if he is one who is afflicted with (the committing of) an act of disobedience from the acts of disobedience that he is diligent upon not letting his family witness him committing it. I’ll give an example for that in the matter of smoking.  Some of the people are afflicted with this act of disobedience.  Then the person smokes in front of his children and as a result of that they become accustomed to this and possibly smoke as their father smokes.  With that, he (the father) becomes one who has directed (his children) to an evil so upon him is the act of sin and the sin of those who acted upon it (due to him) until the Day of Judgment.

The Noble Shaykh Ahmad ibn Yahyaa an-Najmi (may Allah have mercy upon him) was asked:

Some of those who claim that they are Salafis say, “We are Salafis, however, we don’t speak about the one who has made a mistake nor do we disparage anyone.  (Is this correct?)”

Answer:

Say to them: Salafiyyah would not be sound without no one being disparaged.  There is Continue reading

The Description of Knowledge – Shaykh ibn Taymiyyah

Shaykhul-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah (may Allah have mercy upon him) stated:

There are many from the students of knowledge whose intention with the knowledge is nothing except the attainment of leadership or wealth, and for every person is that which he intended. As for the people of knowledge and religion, they are the (true) people of knowledge.  This is what’s intended with them due to its benefit for them and their need Continue reading

Do Not Cover Up The Truth With Falsehood

وَلَا تَلْبِسُوا الْحَقَّ بِالْبَاطِلِ وَتَكْتُمُوا الْحَقَّ وَأَنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ
And mix not truth with falsehood, nor conceal the truth [i.e. Muhammad Peace be upon him is Allah’s Messenger and his qualities are written in your Scriptures, the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)] while you know (the truth). (Soorah Al-Baqara: 42)

The Noble Shaykh Sālih al-Fawzān (may Allah preserve him) stated explaining this verse:

This is another prohibition – covering up the truth with falsehood. Meaning, mixing the truth with falsehood. That which is obligatory is that the truth be distinguished from that which is falsehood. Continue reading

From the Benefits of the Five Daily Prayers

The Noble Imām Shaykh Muhammad Ibn Sālih al-‘Uthaymīn (may Allāh have mercy upon him) said:

Allāh has obligated them (i.e. the five daily prayers) upon the servants. When He first obligated them, He obligated them as fifty prayers to be prayed in the day and night. And being that it was fifty prayers, it is an indication of the love of Allāh for them, His care for them and that they are an act of worship which is entitled to take up most of the person’s time because it is the connection between Allāh and His servants. Are the Trials of the Times a Sign of the Hour?

Question Posed to The Noble Shaykh Sālih al-Fawzān (may Allāh preserve him):

Question:  An abundance of trials and tribulations, occurrences and jealousy have been noticed in this time. Is this from the signs of the establishment of the Hour?

Answer: Without a doubt, the trials and tribulations are from the signs of the establishment of the Hour. There’s no might or power except with Allāh. It is upon the Muslim that he ask Allāh for the safety from the trials and tribulations and that when they take place, he doesn’t participate in it. Continue reading

Al-Jamaa’ah as-Salafiyyah is The Original Jamaa’ah

Question posed to The Noble Shaykh Saalih al-Fawzaan (may Allah preserve him):

Question: Some of the people have claimed that as-Salafiyyah is considered a group from among the active groups present today and its ruling is the ruling of the rest of the groups. What is your refutation for this claim?

Answer: We have mentioned that al-Jamaa’ah as-Salafiyyah is the original Jamaa’ah which is upon the truth, which is obligatory to connect oneself to, work with and ascribe oneself to. That which is other than it from the groups, it’s obligatory that they are not considered to be from the groups of Islamic Da’wah because they are in opposition (to the truth). And how can we follow a group that’s in opposition to the Jamaa’ah of Ahl as-Sunnah and the guidance of the Salaf as-Saalih?! Continue reading

Criticizing People Without Evidences

The Noble Shaykh Rabee ibn Haadi al-Madkhalee (may Allah preserve him) stated:

If you do not come with the evidences and reasons for this criticism (that you have made against individuals), the people would see that you have oppressed them, transgressed the boundaries against them and have attacked their practice of the religion without right. Therefore you now become the one who is being accused (of something evil) and you are in need of freeing your practice of the religion and honor (from the accusation of evil).
