A Blessed Sitting With Our Noble Shaykh, Al-‘Allaamah Rabee’ Bin Haadee al-Madkhalee (hafidhahullaah)

All praise is for Allah the Almighty Who allowed us to sit with a scholar from the scholars of Ahl-us-Sunnah to judge and aid in bringing about a resolution to the differing which has been occurring in America over the past few years between some of the Salafi students of knowledge, which as a result adversely affected the Salafis in the West as a whole. This is a summary of the main points of the meeting:

كان الشيخ ربيع ( حفظه الله) يرحب بنا في بيته و يتلطّف بالإخوة من الطرفين

The Abundance of Numbers Is Not Used As a Proof

Allah The Most High stated:

And if you were to obey the majority of those in the Earth, they would lead you astray from the path of Allah. (Al-An’aam:116)

The Noble Shaykh Muhammad Ibn Saalih al-‘Uthaymeen (may Allah have mercy upon him) stated:

This verse indicates that the abundance of people (being together) is not to be used as a proof against the truth, nor is the small number of those traversing upon a matter from the affairs a proof that it is other than truth. Rather the reality is opposite of that. Indeed the people of the truth are fewer in number but greater with Allah in status and reward. Rather that which is obligatory (upon the people) is to use the paths which lead to it, (truth or falsehood) as a proof for what is the truth and what is falsehood.

He Will Be Exposed…

The Noble Shaykh al-Allaamah Ahmad Ibn Yahyaa an-Najmi (may Allah have mercy upon) stated:

“The one who outwardly displays to the people that he’s upon the Sunnah and Salafiyyah, but (in reality) he’s a innovator, it’s a must that Allah will expose his inner affairs no matter how long he remains hidden.”

Eating From the Food Prepared for Thanksgiving

A question Abu Yusuf Khaleefah posed to Shaykh Mustafaa Mubrim (may Allah preserve him) today:

Shaykh, I work in a hospital and there are Muslim patients here. Today the administration had food cooked for the patients for an early Thanksgiving celebration. Being that Thanksgiving is really next week and not today, can the Muslims eat from this food?

The Shaykh answered:

No. It is not allowed for the Muslims to eat from this food since it has been cooked for the reason of celebrating Thanksgiving. The major scholars like Shaykh Saalih and others have fataawa regarding the prohibition of eating from the food that has been prepared for the celebration of the holidays of the kuffaar. If you eat from that food, this means you have joined with them in the celebration of the holiday.

Abu Yusuf then asked the Shaykh (may Allah preserve him):

What about the leftover food? For example, can they eat from that food tomorrow, after the celebration is over? Continue reading

Perform The Ruqyah Upon Yourself

Question Posed To Shaykh Saalih al-Fawzaan (may Allah preserve him):

May Allah treat you with good, Noble Shaykh. This questioner asks: “If there is someone who is stronger than me in faith, piety and knowledge, and I know that I am upon acts of disobedience to Allah and my faith is weak, can I request from this person to perform the ruqyah upon me, or is it better that I perform it upon myself?”

The Noble Shaykh Saalih al-Fawzaan (may Allah preserve him) responded:

Perform the ruqyah upon yourself. Don’t seek the ruqyah (from someone else). Be independent from the people even if you are one who is disobedient (to Allah). Is it mandatory that you have to be a complete (believer), not having committed any acts of disobedience?! None of us – and there is no might of power except with Allah – are free from acts of disobedience. Continue reading

Boycotting the People of Innovation

The Noble Shaykh Rabee’ Ibn Haadi al-Madkhali (may Allah preserve him) stated:

Indeed the people of innovation today are many and they fill the earth. The refuge is sought with Allah. We do not boycott them all. Indeed they are the focal point of our call. We call them to Allah with wisdom and beautiful preaching.

A True Companion Aids His Brother

Shaykh Zayd al-Madkhali (may Allah have mercy upon him) stated:

The one who is truly a companion is the one who aids his brother according to that which he (the one reminding) is able to do, even if it is with the statement of good. He aids him by way of giving (his brother) the (beneficial) advice (even if that advice goes) against him. When he forgets anything, he reminds him in order that he (i.e. the one reminding) establishes the rights of companionship. (This is) especially in that which is connected to the matters of the religion. He reminds him, advises him and does good to him. All of that is from fulfilling the rights of companionship. As for the one who doesn’t remind you when you forget, and he doesn’t aid you when you are in need of him, (then) indeed he has not established the rights of companionship. That’s because he doesn’t know its status and the status of that which comes as a result of fulfilling (rights of companionship) with the companions (that he have).  Continue reading

The Believer Always Fears…

The Allaamah Shaykh Rabee’ Ibn Haadi al-Madkhali (may Allah preserve him) stated:

The believer always fears that his state will change. It has been established on the authority of Aa’ishah and ‘Anas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) used to say:

((Oh turner of the hearts, establish my heart upon Your religion.))

When People See Evil And Do Not Change It, Allah Will Send Down His Punishment Upon Them All

Question posed to Imam Muhammad Ibn Saalih al-Uthaymeen (may Allah have mercy upon him):

How do we bring harmony between the statement of Allah:

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا عَلَيْكُمْ أَنْفُسَكُمْ لا يَضُرُّكُمْ مَنْ ضَلَّ إِذَا اهْتَدَيْتُمْ إِلَى اللَّهِ مَرْجِعُكُمْ جَمِيعاً فَيُنَبِّئُكُمْ بِمَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ

“O you who believe! Take care of your own selves, [do righteous deeds, fear Allah much (abstain from all kinds of sins and evil deeds which He has forbidden) and love Allah much (perform all kinds of good deeds which He has ordained)]. If you follow the right guidance and enjoin what is right (Islamic Monotheism and all that Islam orders one to do) and forbid what is wrong (polytheism, disbelief and all that Islam has forbidden) no hurt can come to you from those who are in error. The return of you all is to Allah, then He will inform you about (all) that which you used to do.” (al-Maa-idah: 105)

and the statement of the Messenger (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam):

Whoever from amongst you sees an evil then let him change it with his hands. If he’s not able to, then with his tongue…? Continue reading
