Question:
I know that it is not permissible to give money for Zakaatul-Fitr and I mentioned this to my father; however, he didn’t accept it from me. He said that he doesn’t deny the Hadeeth on the Messenger of Allah; however, the country gives money (instead of food) and it’s upon us to do what some of the people do and that is to give money. Wakee’ Ibn al-Jarraah (may Allah have mercy upon him) stated:
Zalaatul-Fitr for the month of Ramadaan is like the two prostrations of forgetfulness for the prayer. It remedies the deficiencies of the fast just as the prostrations remedies the deficiencies of the prayer.
