Fulfilling The Obligations Are Better Than Making The Supererogatory Hajj and Umrah

Al-Haafith Ibn Rajab (may Allah have mercy upon him) stated:

“The fulfillment of all of the obligations are better than making the supererogatory Hajj and ‘Umrah and other than it. Indeed there’s nothing more beloved to Allah that the servants do to get closer to Him than the fulfillment of that which He has made obligatory upon them. It is easy for many from amongst the people to perform the supererogatory acts by way of the Hajj and giving charity. However, it is not easy for them to fulfill the obligatory acts [such as] the paying of debts and returning the rights (of the people). Likewise it is difficult upon the people to keep away from the unlawful and doubtful earnings. At the same time, it is easy upon them to spend that wealth in making Hajj and giving charity. Restraining one’s body parts from that which is prohibited is better than performing the supererogatory Hajj and other than it (from the supererogatory acts). It is also more difficult upon the souls.” Continue reading

The Dunyaa Was in a State of Darkness

Shaykh Rabee’ Ibn Haadi al-Madkhali (may Allah preserve him) stated:

Al-Imam Muhammad Ibn ‘Abdul-Wahaab came and the dunyaa was in a state of darkness. He strove hard by calling to Allah and Allah guided many people by way of him. They were grave worshipers, superstitious, and misguided, and they became guided by way of him. Likewise, [when] Shaykhul-Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah and the Imams of the Da’wah in India from amongst the Salafis came, the dunyaa was in a state of darkness. They spread this call and millions responded.

For the One Who Didn’t Have the Ability to Make Hajj This Year

Al-Haafith Ibn Rajab (may Allah have mercy upon him) stated:

Whoever doesn’t have the ability to stand in ‘Arafah, then let him stand at the prescribed limits of Allah which he knows. Whoever doesn’t have the ability to spend the night in Muzdalifah, then let him spend the night upon the obedience of Allah in order that he gets closer to Him and to be near to Him. Whoever doesn’t have the ability to slaughter his sacrificial animal in Minaa, then let him slaughter his desires in order that he reaches that which is desired. Whoever doesn’t have the ability to reach the sacred house because he is far away from it, then let him intend the Lord of the house, for indeed He is closer to him than the jugular vein.

When People See Evil And Do Not Change It, Allah Will Send Down His Punishment Upon Them All

Question posed to Imam Muhammad Ibn Saalih al-Uthaymeen (may Allah have mercy upon him):

How do we bring harmony between the statement of Allah:

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا عَلَيْكُمْ أَنْفُسَكُمْ لا يَضُرُّكُمْ مَنْ ضَلَّ إِذَا اهْتَدَيْتُمْ إِلَى اللَّهِ مَرْجِعُكُمْ جَمِيعاً فَيُنَبِّئُكُمْ بِمَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ

“O you who believe! Take care of your own selves, [do righteous deeds, fear Allah much (abstain from all kinds of sins and evil deeds which He has forbidden) and love Allah much (perform all kinds of good deeds which He has ordained)]. If you follow the right guidance and enjoin what is right (Islamic Monotheism and all that Islam orders one to do) and forbid what is wrong (polytheism, disbelief and all that Islam has forbidden) no hurt can come to you from those who are in error. The return of you all is to Allah, then He will inform you about (all) that which you used to do.” (al-Maa-idah: 105)

and the statement of the Messenger (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam):

Whoever from amongst you sees an evil then let him change it with his hands. If he’s not able to, then with his tongue…? Continue reading

Seeking To Become Known To The Mashaaykh

Question Posed To Shaykh Ubayd al-Jaabiree (may Allaah preserve him):

Some of the youth say, “Get to know the Mashaayikh so that they can know you by name, so that when you return to your land they (the Mashaayikh) can praise you”. What is your advice (regarding this)? May Allaah bless you. Continue reading

Touching The Woman Does Not Nullify The Wudoo

Some Positions of Jurisprudence of The Eminent Shaykh ‘Abdul-Aziz Ibn Baaz (may Allah have mercy upon him):

The touching of the woman does not nullify the Wudoo. This is whether the touching took place based upon desired or other than desires.

The statement of Allah:

أَوْ لامَسْتُمُ النِّسَاءَ
“Or you have touched them.” (Soorah an-Nisaa: 43)

The intended (meaning) is the sexual relations just as Ibn Abbaas (may Allah be pleased with him) and a group from the people of knowledge have stated. The intent is not touching (the woman) with the hand.
