Treating Oneself With Honey

This is a benefit from last night’s class in which our Shaykh, the Allāmah Muḥammad Ibn ‘Alī Ibn Ādam Al-Etiyūbī (may Allāh preserve him) mentioned in his explanation of Ḥadeeth #2217 of Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim:

A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, “Indeed my brother is having a stomach ailment.” The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said, “Give him honey.” So the man gave him (his brother) honey. Then the man came to him (the Messenger ﷺ) again and said, “Indeed I gave him the honey and it did not increase him except in stomach pains.” Continue reading

Nine Matters One May Die From, From Which the Prophet ﷺ Sought Refuge, Which Has Come In One Ḥadīth

Bismillāh. Ar-Raḥmān Ar-Rahīm.

On the authority of Abu Al-Yusr Ka’b Ibn ‘Amru (may Allāh be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to supplicate with these words:

Oh Allah! I seek refuge with You from (dying due to the) destruction/collapsing (of a structure upon me). I seek refuge with You from (dying due to) deterioration. I seek refuge with You from (dying due to) drowning. I seek refuge with You from (dying due to) worry. I seek refuge with You from (dying due to) burning (alive). I seek refuge with you from (dying due to) decrepitude. I seek refuge with You from the Shayṭān taking me away (from the Straight Path) at the time of death. I seek refuge with You from dying on your path with my back turned (towards the enemy, running away from battle). I seek refuge with You from dying due to being stung/bit (by something poisonous). When Ibrahim Pasha killed Shaykh Sulaymān Ibn ‘Abdillāh Ibn Muḥammad Ibn ‘Abdil-Waḥḥāb (may Allāh have mercy upon them all), he wanted to enrage Shaykh Sulaymān’s father, Shaykh ‘Abdullāh Ibn Muhammad Ibn ‘Abdil-Waḥḥāb (may Allāh have mercy upon them both).
