A Merciful Call

The Noble Scholar Shaykh Rabee’ bin Hādi al-Madkhali (may Allah preserve him) stated:

I advise you all, oh brothers, that you traverse upon the path of the Salaf as-Sālih (in matters of) learning, character and in calling (to Allah). No harshness, no extremism, a call (to Allah) that is accompanied with forbearance, mercy and exalted character. By Allah, the Dawah as-Salafiyyah will spread by way of these good methods. I say: Some people wrongfully ascribe (things) to this Manhaj. They have come about with evil methods and characteristics. From it, attacking Salafiyyah in the name of Salafiyyah. They have distorted the Dawah as-Salafiyyah with this (evil) way (of theirs). I advise the youth to fear Allah azza wa jall, learn the beneficial knowledge, perform the righteous actions and call the people to Allah with knowledge and wisdom. Continue reading →

من توكل علي بن أبي طالب رضي الله عنه

عن عمرو بن أبي جندب رحمه الله -وكان ثقة- قال: كنا جلوسا عند سعيد بن قيس بصفين، فأقبل علي رضي الله عنه، متوكئا على عَنَزة له بعد ما اختلط الظلام. فقال سعيد: يا أمير المؤمنين، قال: نعم قال: أما تخاف أن يغتالك أحد؟ قال: “إنه ليس من أحد إلا ومعه من الله حفظة -وفي لفظ: ملائكة يحفظونه- من أن يتردى في بئر، أو يخر من جبل، أو يصيبه حجر، أو تصيبه دابة، أو يأكله سبع أو غرق أو حرق فإذا جاء القدر خلوا بينه وبين القدر”. رواه ابن المنذر، وأبو الشيخ، والواحدي في التفسير، وابن عساكر في تاريخ دمشق وسنده صحيح. نموذجان من شدة زهد عمر بن الخطاب رضي الله عنه في الدنيا

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

عن نافع قال: سمعت ابن عمر يحدث سعيد بن جبير قال: بلغ عمر بن الخطاب أن يزيد بن أبي سفيان كان يأكل ألوانا من الطعام، فقال عمر لمولى له يقال له يرفأ: إذا علمت أنه قد حضر عشاؤه فأعلمني. فلما حضر عشاؤه أعلمته، فأتاه عمر فسلم واستأذن، فأذن. وقرب عشاؤه، فجاءه بثريدة بلحم فأكل معه عمر، ثم قرب شواء فبسط يزيد يده وكف عمر يده ثم قال: بالله يا يزيد بن أبي سفيان أطعاما بعد طعام؟ والذي نفس عمر بيده لئن خالفتم عن سنتهم ليخالفن بكم عن طريقهم”. رواه ابن المبارك في الزهد، وابن أبي الدنيا في إصلاح المال وابن شبة في أخبار المدينة وابن عساكر في تاريخ دمشق بسند حسن. وهذا ليس تحريما من عمر رضي الله عنه لأكل ألوان الطعام ولكن تذكير بعيش رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم وما كان عليه من شظف العيش، وقلة الطعام، إيثارا للباقية على العاجلة. A Warning To All Who Sit In The Masjid And Talk About The Dunyaa

Ibn Mas’ood (may Allah be pleased with him) came out upon a people who were speaking in the Masjid after the Adhaan so he prohibited them from talking. He said:

Indeed you have only come for the prayer, so either you pray or remain silent. For indeed, I heard the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم say:

ﺳَﻴَﻜُﻮﻥُ ﻓِﻲ ﺁﺧِﺮِ ﺍﻟﺰَّﻣَﺎﻥِ ﻗَﻮْﻡٌ ﻳَﺠْﻠِﺴُﻮﻥَ ﻓِﻲ ﺍﻟْﻤَﺴَﺎﺟِﺪِ ﺣِﻠَﻘًﺎ ﺣِﻠَﻘًﺎ ﺇِﻣَﺎﻣُﻬُﻢُ ﺍﻟﺪُّﻧْﻴَﺎ ، ﻓَﻼ ﺗُﺠَﺎﻟِﺴُﻮﻫُﻢْ ، ﻓَﺈِﻧَّﻪُ ﻟَﻴْﺲَ ﻟِﻠَّﻪِ ﻓِﻴﻬِﻢْ ﺣَﺎﺟَﺔٌ .
There will be at the end of the time people who sit in the Masaajid, circles upon circles. Their leader is the Dunyaa. Don’t sit with them for surely Allah has no need for them.
