Hastily Spreading Misunderstandings Between Brothers

The ‘Allaamah, Shaykh Muhammad bin Haadi (may Allah have mercy upon him) stated:

When there takes place a misunderstanding between two individuals from the brothers, some of them begin to write against others although both of them are upon one path, one methodology and upon (taking knowledge from) the same shuyookh. This path is not good. If you have an observance against him (i.e your brother), this is your brother, give it to him. As for exposing it on the internet, sending it (to others) on the internet and writing it on the net, then this is from the spreading of the faults which is not permissible.

As for the matter of knowledge, this is another affair. As for the matter of refuting the mistakes which the people who committed them are going astray, this is another affair also. And even in the matter of the mistakes, you have from it that which is private and that which is public. Therefore that which is private is not suitable to spread in a public manner. As for that which has circulated, become publicly known and spread among the people, the refutation against it is to be circulated, publicly known and that which is correct is to be spread among the people in order that the people know it and they correct the mistake. Are Refutations Of Innovators A Cause Of Separation?

Shaykh Saalih Ibn Fawzaan al-Fawzaan was asked:

Question: Many people say that those who refute the people of bid’ah are the cause of separation.

Answer:
Yes, separation between the truth and the falsehood – this is correct. We make a distinction between truth and the falsehood and (also between) the people of truth and the people of falsehood. We are going to refute (the people of falsehood), and the Scholars refuted (the people of falsehood). This is not for the purpose of causing division; this is to gather the people upon the truth, because with people remaining upon misguidance and upon the speech of falsehood, then this causes division between the Muslims. As for clarifying the truth for the people, so they can gather upon it, then this is the da’wah towards unity, not the da’wah towards separation. The da’wah towards separation is when it is said, ‘The people of falsehood are not to be refuted.’ This is the da’wah to division if they only gave thought. Continue reading

Worldly Affairs Do Not Separate Those Who Love Each Other For Allah

The Noble Shaykh Muhammad Ibn Saalih al-‘Uthaymeen (may Allah have mercy upon him) stated:

Those who love each other for the sake of Allah, there’s nothing from the affairs of the worldly life that can cut off their love for the sake of Allah. Indeed they are people who only love (each other) for the sake of Allah, nothing separates them except for death. Even if some of them have made a mistake against the others or have fallen short regarding the rights of others, indeed this does not concern them.
