The Origins Of Wrongdoing

Shaykhul-Islaam Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyyah (may Allah have mercy upon him) stated:

The origins of wrongdoing are three:

1. Arrogance: It is that which drove Iblees to that which it drove him (i.e. to commit that which Iblees committed).

2. Desire: It is that which caused Aadam to be expelled from the Paradise.

3. Jealousy: It is that which caused one of the sons of Aadam to transgress against his brother.

Therefore, whoever is protected from the evil of these three (traits) then indeed he has been protected from evil. For disbelief is from arrogance; disobedience from desires; and transgression and oppression from jealousy. Continue reading

The Mercy Of Islam Upon All Animals

The Imam and Shaykh Muhammad Ibn Saalih al-Uthaymeen (may Allah have mercy upon him) stated:

When you want to kill a rat, and killing it is recommended, do well in killing it. Kill it with that which will cause its soul to leave right on the spot. Do not harm it. From the ways of harming it is that which some people do when they put something down to catch it by way of sticking it (ex. using glue or a mouse trap). The rat is stuck to it (i.e. the trap); then the person leaves the rat to die from hunger and thirst. Continue reading

الحق أحق أن يتبع

: – قال فضيلة الشيخ العلامة ربيع المدخلي – حفظه الله

The Defect Is Not In The Beard

Shaykh Muqbil Ibn Haadi al-Waadi’ee (may Allah have mercy upon him) stated:

When you see a person with a beard being a liar or when you see a person with a beard being a betrayer or when you see a person with a beard being a thief, (then know) the defect is not in the beard. Rather the defect is in the person who has the beard. As for the beard (in and of itself), there’s no defect in it. It is from the characteristics of the Fitrah (the natural disposition). It is also from the Sunan of the Messenger of Allah (sallallaahu alayhi wa alaa aalihi wa sallam) which he commanded with and obligated. Continue reading

This Manner Of Dividing The Meat Has No Basis…

Imaam Al-Albaani (may Allaah have mercy upon him) stated:

It’s a must that something from the slaughtered animal be given in charity without designating a specific amount, as some have claimed. (They claimed that it be divided into) thirds: a third that the person eats during the Eid, a third that the person gives in charity, and a third that the person stores. This dividing of the meat into thirds has no origin. The case is only that the meat be divided into three categories (to be given), without designating the amount to be given. This is what has come (in the narration). This is because the Prophet (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) said: “I used to prohibit you from storing the meat of the slaughtered animal. Now eat, give in charity, and save some (of the slaughtered animal).” The Prophet didn’t designate a specific amount (to be given).  Continue reading
