Seeking Du’aa From The Needy Person To Whom One Has Given Sadaqah Is Not Appropriate

Shaykhul-Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah (may Allaah have mercy upon him) stated:

Whoever sought du’aa or praise from the poor people (after giving them Sadaqah) has gone outside (the interpreted meaning of) this verse:

إنما نطعمكم لوجه الله لا نريد منكم جزاءً ولا شكوراً

Being Patient Upon The Harm of The People

 وَلَمَن صَبَرَ وَغَفَرَ إِنَّ ذَٰلِكَ لَمِنْ عَزْمِ الْأُمُورِ

“And verily, whosoever shows patience and forgives that would truly be from the things recommended by Allah.” (Soorah ash-Shooraa: 43)

The noble Imaam Shaykh Muhammad Ibn Saalih al-‘Uthaymeen (may Allaah have mercy upon him) stated commenting on this verse:

That is due to the harm of  people coming as a result of many different matters. Therefore if the reason (of him being harmed) is a result of his obedience to Allah, his Jihaad for the sake of Allah, the commanding of that which is right and the forbidding of that which is wrong, indeed the person is rewarded for that from two angles. يا أيها الذين آمنوا لا تلهكم أموالكم ولا أولادكم عن ذكر الله ومن يفعل ذلك فأولئك هم الخاسرون

“O you who believe! Let not your properties or your children divert you from the remembrance of Allah. And whosoever does that, then they are the losers.” (Soorah al-Munaafiqoon: 9)

Imaam Ibn Baaz (may Allaah have mercy upon him) stated about this verse:

In this noble verse Allaah has directed His commandment towards His believing servants. He also prohibits them from becoming busied and pre-occupied from the remembrance of Him by way of their wealth or their children. He has clarified that whoever does so is from amongst the losers. Allaah stated:

“O you who believe! Let not your properties or your children divert you from the Continue reading
