The Imaam, Shaykh Saalih al-Fawzaan (may Allah preserve him) stated:

Whoever leaves off the Sunnah during the time of trials and tribulations is destroyed along with those who are destroyed. The trials and tribulations are similar to the flood water and nothing saves from it except holding on to the Sunnah.

“السنة من تركها وقت الفتن هلك مع أهل الضلال فالفتن مثل الطوفان ولايُنجي منها إلا التمسك بالسنة”
