We prayed in the Prophet’s Masjid last night [April 16th, 27th of Jumaada ath-Thaani] and on our way out to head to the class of the Noble Shaykh Rabee’ (may Allah preserve him), we passed by the gathering of knowledge being held by the muhaddith of Madeenah, Shaykh ‘Abdul-Muhsin al-Badr (may Allah preserve him). The Shaykh’s gathering was filled with hundreds of students sitting at his feet as he was mentioning some of the virtues of the Muhaajireen and the Ansaar. We stopped to listen to a benefit or two before we continued to take the group to Shaykh Rabee’s class.
The Shaykh mentioned how the Ansaar gave from what they had to aid the Muhaajireen without looking for anything in return, and the concern of the Sahaabah was to aid the religion. As the Shaykh was mentioning this, there were some Shi’a (from what was apparent from their dress) walking by, frowning at the gathering of the Shaykh. Indeed the gatherings of knowledge held by the ‘ulamaa of Ahlus Sunnah are a means of enraging the people of innovation, and the praise is for Allah!
