The Noble Scholar Shaykh Muhammad bin Sālih Al-‘Uthaymīn رحمه الله was asked:

Q. What is the ruling if a person forgets a prayer while he was traveling and then remembered it while he is present (in his hometown)?

He رحمه الله responded:

“If he is making up a traveling prayer while he is present (in his hometown), he prays two Raka’ah. And if it is a residential prayer that he is making up while he is traveling, he prays four Raka’ah. This is based upon the statement of the Prophet ﷺ:

{Whoever forgets a prayer, let him pray it when he remembers, and there is no expiation for it except for that}.

This means: Let him pray it upon the description it was (when he forget to pray it) when he remembers it.”

【’Ilām Al-Musāfirīn bi Ba’d Ādāb wa Ahkām As-Safar Pg.69】

سئل الشيخ ابن عثيمين رحمه الله تعالى:

ما الحكم إذا نسي صلاة سفر وذكرها في الحضر؟

فأجاب:

“إذا كان يقضي صلاة سفر في حضر فيصلي ركعتين، وإذا كانت صلاة حضر في سفر فيصلي أربعاً؛ لقول النبي عليه الصلاة والسلام: (من نسي صلاة فليصلها إذا ذكرها، لا كفارة لها إلا ذلك)، أي: فليصلها هي نفسها على الصفة التي كانت عليها إذا ذكرها.”

Salātu ‘Eīd Al-Adhā will be held on the basketball and tennis courts within the Lefrak City complex. The closest entrance is on 57th. The grounds are reserved from 830am to 11am. We ask that everyone arrive no later than 915am. There will be one prayer and Khutbah afterwards.
