Don’t Continue to Blame The One Who Repented

Shaykhul-Islām Ibn Taymiyyah رحمه الله stated:

“It is not permissible to criticize the one who has repented according to the consensus of the people (of knowledge).”

[Majmū Al-Fatāwā 8/179]

The one who has repented is the one who has abandoned the sin that was being committed, has regret for what was done and has the firm resolve not to return back to the sin. And if the sin is connected to the right of another, the right is returned back to the person.
