18 Matters That Harm The Salafi Da’wah

Translation of Ash-Shaykh Ahmad Ibn Umar Bazmool’s (حفظه الله تعالى) Tweets:

1. From the matters that harm the Salafi Da’wah: Those who collect money in the name of the Salafi Da’wah or due to ascribing to it and then misappropriate it. 

2. From the matters that harm the Salafi Da’wah: That those who did not learn religious knowledge in proper stages and incorporate its manners should put themselves forward for teaching and da’wah.

3. From the matters that harm the Salafi Da’wah: That people put themselves forward for teaching and da’wah who are only concerned with actualizing their ambitions and what is to their advantage at the expense of the Salafi da’wah.

4. From the matters that harm the Salafi Da’wah: That some unstable and shifty people enter the ranks of the Salafis and pit people against one another and ignite fitnah under the guise of advising.

5. From the matters that harm the Salafi Da’wah: Some salafis involve themselves in differing and try to pass judgment on those senior to him in knowledge; this is from poor manners.

6. From the matters that harm the Salafi Da’wah: Some students engaging in instigating and making trouble against genuine Salafis who are actively confronting the opponents (of the truth).

7. From the matters that harm the Salafi Da’wah: Bringing forth and spreading strange, rejected views that oppose the evidence and what the salaf were upon. This is from that which the Ulemaa of the Sunnah dispraise.

8. From the matters that harm the Salafi Da’wah: Some students of knowledge engaging in spreading madhhab based statements that are contrary to the Islamic evidences in order to prove that there is another stated view.

9. From the matters that harm the Salafi Da’wah: Describing the Salafi who is traversing upon the methodology as being extreme in criticism, hasty, or wild.

10. From the matters that harm the Salafi Da’wah: Some students of knowledge engaging in rearing the Salafis to have blind allegiance for them and submission to their opinions.

11. From the matters that harm the Salafi Da’wah: The feigning of knowledge by some of those who put themselves forward and portraying themselves as balanced and objective while the reality of his affair is that he does not excel past being silent concerning falsehood or forsaking support of the truth.

12. From the matters that harm the Salafi Da’wah: Treating some of the students of knowledge like Ulemaa or preferring them over the Ulemaa, despite their not even deserving the description of being a student of knowledge.

13. From the matters that harm the Salafi Da’wah: Some students of knowledge attempting to direct the youth according to their opinion and whims and to make it so that the truth and whatever opposes it to be considered harshness and madness.

14. From the matters that harm the Salafi Da’wah: Some students of knowledge engaging in inventing principles without anyone having preceded them in that, (a result of none) other than his self-astonishment and feigning of knowledge.

15. From the matters that harm the Salafi Da’wah: That the students who put themselves forth do not call and refer back to the Ulemaa; rather, (the students) see that they don’t need them, and this is a dangerous deviation.

16. From the matters that harm the Salafi Da’wah: A lack of harmony, cohesion and mutual advice between the Salafis, thus making it easy to fracture the ranks of the Salafis, especially by those who ascribe to Salafiyyah in name while opposing it in description and reality.

17. From the matters that harm the Salafi Da’wah: Not distinguishing between the genuine Salafi and those who display it as a ploy to meddle with the truth.

18. From the matters that harm the Salafi Da’wah: Reviling genuine Salafis on account of those who feign Salafiyyah as a ploy to meddle with the truth.
